Author's
NOTE
It all began with a pen...
I was first introduced to creative writing in Mrs. Grisly's third-grade class at Central Elementary in Ferguson, Missouri. The smallest kid in class had finally found something that made her taller, stronger, and prouder. I was imprinted with a comforting talent that would never leave or forsake me. Years later and that same desire to create and innovate burns fervently, with no fear of ever being smothered. In eighth grade, I constructed my first ever short story. Between my sophomore and senior year in high school, I wrote two drafts of my first novel, Insincere. The summer after my freshman year of college, I wrote a draft of my second, Nicolai.
Reflecting back, I now realize the stories, movies, and books I grew up reading, hearing, and watching serves as the catalysts of my writing rampage. Fictional characters, towns, and plot devices have always been my safe havens through sadness, grief, and trauma. However, above all, J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World is the mere reason I could fall flat a million times and will still have the will to get back up again. I'm genuinely in awe of the power of words and worlds. At the age of 24, I'm finally ready to publish my own.
